How does your service stand out?
Mohr Fun Events is more than just a Disc Jockey Service. We are FUN FACILITATORS! We love to make memorable events unforgettable by helping everyone in attendance have an amazing time. We take pride in our experience, in our equipment and knowledge, and in our polished and professional delivery.
What do you enjoy about the work you do?
I really enjoy being such an integral part of celebrations for major events in peoples lives. I love music, so being able to use music to entertain makes it even more fun for me! The best part of my job is when I hear guest say after a wedding performance that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. That’s what drives me to exceed expectations at every single event!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is to communicate to make sure we are the right fit for your event. Every gig is completely unique, and each DJ’s style is different. We are very versatile and can cater to a wide range of events. Meeting in person before your event may not always be possible, but we highly recommend making the time to have a face-to-face meeting with your entertainer. We offer unlimited consultations leading up to your event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always active in professional development, continually striving to get even better at my job than I was yesterday. It works! I keep up to date on all music, and am always learning more about artists from past generations. This allows me to be a versatile DJ, able to entertain a wide variety of guests.
Additionally, training and practice turns potential disasters into minor inconveniences, always remedied behind the scenes. We take steps to have a back-up plan for everything in case technical issues might arise.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
My standard is $200 an hour for wedding receptions, and ceremonies are sometimes priced separately because of the extra equipment that might be involved. Other events are priced based upon the type. We do offer combo discounts if more than one service is used!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved music, and I enjoyed entertaining friends at home while in college. Then I would DJ at the family business as a young adult, and began doing weddings in the early 2000’s for friends of the family. I started becoming a professional DJ around 10 years ago on the Outer Banks, and then I finally decided to do it full time in 2011. Now I cover the whole state of NC and some of all three of the neighboring states as well!
What types of customers have you worked with?
All sorts! I have done weddings for couples young and old, from all different walks of life. I am versatile, so it is easy for me to please a wide variety of folks from many different places, even when they all converge in one place for one evening!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Meet with them in person if possible! You cannot get to know anyone over text, or even by phone. Having a rapport with someone that is going to be such an important part of your event is critical not only to ensure the perfect delivery, but also to make sure you are not apprehensive leading up to event day. Meet with me before your event and you will be confident that I will deliver exactly what I have promised to you.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
How important is entertainment for your event? People that skimp on entertainment often regret it afterward.
What style of entertainment are you looking for? We are super flexible and able to accommodate a wide range of styles. Nonetheless, we would be willing to admit if we think there is someone else that would fit your event better. It’s good to have some sort of vision in mind for the initial phone call or in-person meeting to evaluate our fit for your event.
